A Garden Pond in Your Landscape - Want Water in Your Yard?

By Brigitte Burchett A Garden Pond in your Landscape - Want Water in your Yard? Thought about adding a garden pond? Should you?
Here are the pros and cons to consider: On the pro side: A garden pond adds an entirely new dimension to your garden!
Where before the living things were limited to plant life,
the pond will have fish (must does not need to). The water will attract birds and other animals which make
for wonderful watching and viewing. This aspect of the water
feature can be enhanced by adding landscaping attractive to
birds. The water noise generated by a waterfall, fountain or creek
is very relaxing and the visual beauty of the water feature
adds much enjoyment to the outdoor space. Aquatic plants such as water lilies and lotus are absolutely
spectacular, do not need much care once established and
provide blooms all summer long. Aquatic plants never need to be watered! A garden pond actually needs less water than a lawn. This is
an important consideration in areas with water restrictions. Pond fish do not need to be taken for walk, they do not make
noise and they can be left for a week or two on their own and
will do just fine. A pond contributes important living space for critters that
have been impacted greatly by development of subdivisions and
shopping centers. Frogs, toads and newts will make a pond
their new home. A well designed water feature will add to the resale value of
the home by greatly enhancing its landscape. On the con side: Building a garden pond requires a bit of an initial
investment. Good equipment should be used, because once a
pond is installed it will last many, many years. Pond equipment does have to be mainted: Good equipment needs
very little maintenance, lower end equipment needs much
more. A water feature has to made secure if small children are
close by. This article provided courtesy of http://www.pondmarket.com - a site dedicated to garden ponds and water features providing free information including

Top 10 Wedding Makeup Mistakes

By Colette Cormier When getting ready for weddings, many women think the bigger the event, the bigger the makeup. Well not so. Below is a list of the most common mishaps innocently played out at the hands of excited event-goers. 1. Too much makeupyes, the wedding is a big celebration but try not to make your face as grand as the excitement. Less is more. 2. Stuck on trendsokay, unless youve been asleep for the past few years, you know that glitter is big. But 5 years from now you want to look at photos that have a timeless, classic and neutral face. Dont date your photos with super shine! Go with matte, neutrals. 3. Makeup that isnt youIf you never wear a stitch of makeup, dont walk down the aisle or show up at a party looking like you lost a fight with a Drag Queen. Look like you, only fresher. 4. Look-a-likesgone are the days when bridesmaids all resemble big matching rosettes atop a cake. Let your wedding party keep their individuality and wear looks that suit them. Dont give everyone bright purple eye-paint to match the purple dresses. Work with a range of harmonizing colour families. 5. Forcing the unwillingclassic are the Moms of brides and grooms who go under the brush to please the bride, only to be upset that lipstick feels funny on their usually bare lips. Dont force anyone to be made up for your event; youll create needless stress for yourself also. 6. Changing routinestoo many brides rush out and get facials, tans and teeth whitening a week before the wedding. Skin erupts, gums flare up, and tans can peel off like wallpaper the morning of the nuptials. Stick with your regular skincare, eat well, exercise, have lots of water and sleep, and less caffeine. 7. Forgetting suppliesany makeup artist who tells you your face will last the whole day of your big party with NO touch-ups is selling a dream. You will need blotting papers or powder to control face shine before photos, lipstick to reapply and maybe sealer to prep for all those celebration kisses, a little liner or eye shadow to refresh after tears, and always waterproof mascara. 8. Wrong lookmany people take pictures out of magazines and request a look that doesnt suit them or is too sultry for their Victorian theme (the smokey eye and the pale JLo lip are common requests.) Match your look to the feel of the event and to suit your face. 9. Over-dew!I havent met a bride who didnt want a dewey shining cheek. The challenge is that it can look greasy in photos. Stick with a little highlighting on cheekbones or eyes, but not whole face. 10. Gloss crazyleave the gloss for calmer events. Big events mean you kiss a lot and dance like mad. You end up with your flying hair stuck to you, and your mouth stuck to everyone else. Keep lips creamy or matte. The Source of All Disease

By D.S. Braun So why is there disease? The very word means that the body is in a state of Diss-Ease. It is certainly not being provided with the optimal conditions that it requires to maintain itself healthily. Unless you provide it with the right conditions, mentally, physically and spiritually, it will not function at its optimum level. The triangle of MIND, BODY and SPIRIT represents the three inseparable components of our being and wellness. None of these factors can be affected without there being an effect on the others. Similarly, you cannot treat one without considering the others. It is however fair to say that at a given time it may be appropriate to devote more attention to one area, rather than another. Good health is about good balance, just as homeostasis within the organism is about good balance. Major Factors Affecting Health: Stress Digestion Absorption Circulation Elimination These processes play a major role in determining the wellness of an individual. They are all intimately related ... an imbalance in one will have an effect on all of the others. These are always the first things to consider when looking at a your own or another person's health. Five Basic Considerations For Health Good nutrition is fundamental to good physical health. You cannot expect to have a healthy body if you choose to run it on junk. Much of the energy that we draw from our food is actually channelled back to service for digestion, absorption, circulation and elimination. The rest of our body energy is used in the processes of thinking, working and playing, Unfortunately, in modern society, there is another factor which is a crippling drain on bodily resources - this is STRESS. Our cells are the smallest living units of our bodies, and each cell is like a tiny factory. Each cell must be nourished completely and constantly, and the waste efficiently eliminated. If this is not done, the cell will either function inefficiently or it will die. Health begins and ends at the cellular level and it is here where we must focus our attention. Stress is crippling at all levels. Let's look at the other four components of our model. Our cells must be fed and cleansed if they are to function efficiently. The first stage in meeting the nutritional requirements of each cell is digestion. Inefficient digestion, which is the breaking down of food into its tiniest components, spells immediate problems. Similarly, if the absorption of these digested foods is not occurring, then nutrients cannot get to the cells. We rely on our blood to carry absorbed nutrients from the digestive system to each cell. If circulation is impaired this will not happen. Finally, elimination. If the cells are bathed in their own wastes, they cannot function therefore the elimination via the kidneys, skin and bowel is of paramount importance. The Cost of Processed Foods When we eat processed, low quality foods, we not only do not provide our body with sufficient nutrients, but we also burden it further with the more difficult task of ELIMINATING them. From this very simple example, you can see how poor quality foods sap our vital energy. There is only so much to go around. Vital energy used in the process of digesting and detoxifying valueless food, and then eliminating in heavy, fibreless waste leaves much less energy available for the good things in life. There is also much less energy available for our IMMUNE SYSTEM and other vital functions. This all contributes to a corresponding reduction in health. An Ongoing Commitment To Wellness Another important concept to consider is that we all should be actively involved in maintaining our health. It is an ongoing process and we must always be increasing our commitment to it. Most people take good health for granted - something we are given and don't have to take care of. This is a ridiculous notion, but it is convenient. By turning a blind eye to our health we have more time for the supposedly important things like making lots of money. That money of course is worthless if we don't have the good health to enjoy it. It is very convenient to hand our wealth over to somebody else with the demand "you fix me". This is further acknowledgement that we don't want to be responsible about our own health and this further perpetuates the fantasy of "mystery illness" - germs that strike you down at random. The Bible has an interesting comment on this. It states that "the curse causeless, shall not come". Simply put, this means that no disease happens by accident. So, the sooner we accept responsibility for our health and get on with "healing ourselves", the sooner we will be able to help others with their own healing process. At present orthodox medicine is based on an entirely incorrect premise - that illness and disease are separate from you, and that you have no control over these misfortunes. This does not recognise the role of the body's immune system and the powerful self-regenerating capacity of the body. Fortunately, this incorrect thinking is changing. Similarly the popular view of health and illness is that you are either one or the other. That is you are either sick or you are well. The fact is that we are all in varying stages of wellness or unwellness, depending on which way you look at it. Illness is the last stage of the problem. You have already ignored the early warning signals of tiredness, falling energy, mental confusion, irritability, indigestion ... whatever. You haven't been looking after yourself and your body was unable to defend itself against an invader. Or your body has been allowed to slip into a chronic degenerative state. At this point, there is little use in trying to attack the invader. Your state of illness is a sign that your body is run down and not coping. It is virtually waving a red flag and saying "Please look at me, I'm not coping". The run down state is the CAUSE of the problem, and the disease is the EFFECT. If you only treat the effect, the problem will occur again either in this form or another. You have to identify the problem and provide the body with the right conditions for it to get on with its own defence and healing. Consider what takes place if you break your leg. A doctor sets it and it heals. But who does the healing? Not the doctor. But he did provide the body with the right conditions for it to heal itself. If you were also provided with good food and the appropriate additional nutrients, the task of healing would have been completed even more quickly and efficiently. You would have provided the optimal conditions to rebuild the break. These points are fundamental to natural healing philosophy. Indeed, this is the only true healing. Wholeness Health can be defined as "wholeness". This means living fully and rhythmically with every part of our being. In ancient times this concept of wholeness was called "holiness", and it is the real root meaning of the word. Anyone who lives in only part of his or her being becomes unwhole or unholy : in short unhealthy. The more we are out of resonance with nature, the more we suffer disease and pain. Save Money On Your Wedding Flowers

By Crystal Unrau Flowers can make the wedding sparkle, but can also cost a fair bit of money! The best way to save money on your wedding flowers is to buy them in bulk and arrange them yourself. If the idea of entrusting your floral design to your own inexperienced hands scares you, here are a few suggests that mayhelp you save money without the worry! 1. Silk Flowers - silk flowers can make beautiful wedding bouquets, and may also be cheaper then real flowers, especially if you want flowers that are out of season. But the biggest bonus is that you can arrange and rearrange them in advance, and you have enough time to work at it until it is perfect! 2. Find a unprofessional professional! Do you or your fiance have a friend or family member with floral experience? Ask around! You may find that someone you know, knows someone who is a retired florist! Or check out the local Seniors center, they may have suggestions as well! A retired florist will often offer their services at a much lower cost, and if they are friends or family, they may be willing to do it for free! 3. Take a class! Many local colleges and art centers offer flower arranging evening classes to help you learn the basics of arranging flowers for yourself! Local craft stores will often offer similar classes as well!! 4. Search online - many craft stores have websites with craft projects and ideas, including wedding arrangements! Check out Michaels for example! They carry a selction of 20+ bouquets with complete assembly instructions online!
If none of those ideas are particularly calming, and you would prefer to have a professional florist do your flowers, there are still ways that you can save money! Here are a few steps you can take to ensure you get the best flowers for your money.
1. Pick flowers that are in season, they are automatically cheaper then out of season flowers. For example, tulips for a spring wedding would be much less expensive then tulips in December. If you are unsure what flowers are inseason, ask your florist for advice. 2. Pick a bouquet that uses more affordable flowers (carnations, for example) accented with a few exotic flowers for a beautiful finish! When looking through my mother's wedding photos, I found a stunning photo of her bouquet, which was a cascading bouquet of white carnations with one goregous stargazer lily in front! It was goregous, and much more affordable then it woudl have been if she had used roses! 3. Shop around, get quotes from all the shops in your area, and make sure they know you are going to be getting quotes from other shops as well. Often, they will quote you a lower price if they know you are going to be looking around! 4. Look into the cost of silk flowers - especially if you want flowers that are out of seaon. Many retailers, both online and locally, carry exquisite silk flower designs that are fabulous in appearance and in price! Ask around and find out if there is a local craftsperson who does arrangements from their home. Their prices will be lower becuase they have less overhead to deal with the retail locations.
You may choose to save money by arranging you flowers yourself, or you may choose to hire someone to do it for you. Either way, a little planning and research can save you a lot of money! Buying a Used Car

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joseph_Kenny]Joseph Kenny Before getting your own car, it pays to do some homework. Think about what you need, what the car will be used for, and your budget. Look in books and online and think about repair costs, safety tests, mileage etc. All this research can save you some serious money and help you avoid being ripped off. Once youve chosen the car you want, you have to decide how you are going to pay for it. You can pay the whole amount upfront or you can finance the purchase over time. If you do use financing, you should be aware that this increases the total cost of the car as you must pay for the car plus the credit. Once you have decided on how much you can put down, you can look at the annual percentage rate (APR) of the loan and the length of the loan and see how much your monthly payments will be. Generally speaking, the shorter the term of the loan, the higher the APR. If you are in your teens, cosigning with your parents will help you to get a better rate. You may also want to think about paying in cash for a less expensive car. Dealer or Private Sale? This is an important decision to make. If you buy from a dealer you will generally pay more. But you will benefit from knowing that if there is a problem you can return to the dealer to complain. Many dealers offer warranties and guarantee the quality of the car. On the other hand, buying from an individual will offer less security as the car will generally be sold as is, which means you must bare the cost of any problems that later arise. You also cannot go back and complain to an individual if something they told you turns out to be untrue. That said, buying from an individual can often offer very good value. First of all, they will not add a mark up on the price, which is what a dealer would do if he had bought it first. Also, if you bring along your own mechanic, or someone who knows about cars, you can have it checked out to make sure everything looks ok. Before you buy the car, make sure you examine it with an inspection checklist. Get a good test drive over varied road conditions and be sure to get the cars maintenance record. It is also worth having the car inspected by a mechanic if you have serious concerns about it. Finally, before you buy, make sure you are ready to meet all the associated costs of having the car. These include insurance, fuel, maintenance and repairs. A Natural Hormone Can Make You Lose Weight

By Stuart William The popularity of weight loss surgery (WLS) is on a rise nowadays. Its the ultimate solution for curtailing excessive weight. New findings suggest that laparoscopic gastric banding (LGB), an immensely popular weight loss technique meant for long-lasting weight reduction could prove helpful in the prevention and remission of type 2 diabetes in obese patients. Studies suggest that this minimally invasive technique of weight loss surgery can help in reducing weight loss quite effortlessly.
LGB has multiple benefits. Its beneficial for sufferers of high blood pressure as well. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure. This is why high blood pressure is often called the "silent killer." In this regard, LGB can prove to be a savior of so many lives.
Like all other forms of dieting such as diet pills, normal bariatric surgeries have a very low incidence of success in providing long-term, substantial weight loss. The major difference between other procedures and WLS is that it can have profound impact on your body that you never really expected. WLS are mostly recommended in case of morbid obesity and not for regular weight loss cases. It is a dangerous procedure that permanently alters your digestive system and invokes a state of anorexia thereby causing malnutrition.
Before opting for any sort of surgical procedure, its better to seek the consent of a medical practitioner. It would be of great help to know about both the positive and negative outcomes of the surgery as some people do well after it but the majority develops all sorts of negative conditions after the procedure is through.
Awareness is essential before opting for any new venture. So, in spite of the claims regarding diabetes and high blood pressure, its essential to know about the implications of these surgical procedures. So, use your mind to choose the best option for attaining weight loss and make your life worthwhile.

Little Known Weed Secretly Assaults Your Lawn During Wintertime

By Keith Fetzner It is winter. Your family is tucked inside your home, shutting out the bitter cold. As you sip your hot chocolate, lawn care is the last thing on your mind. You don't need to worry about weeds for at least 2 months. Are you sure? Veronica would beg to differ. And who is Veronica? She is a lawn expert, but unfortunately, she is an expert at destroying your lawn, not caring for it. Lawn care is the farthest thing from her mind. Veronica, short for Veronica officinalis, is one of the earliest of lawn weeds to invade your lawn. She creeps in during the winter before you've even thought of calling your lawn care company. By the winter's end, her roots have already formed and green stalks are beginning to grow. She can grow well in many different environments. I'd go outside and check for this weed right now if I were you. It has hairy green stems, around 10-50 cm long. The stems normally cover the ground in dense mats, sending up short vertical shoots with small violet flowers. Normally the leaves are 1.5-5 cm long, and around 1-3 cm wide. A lawn care expert can help you identify it if you have trouble. Veronica officinalis, sometimes known as "Gypsyweed," "Speedwell," or "Paul's betony," thrives in cool, moist soils. However, Veronica officinalis can take hold in any areas that have been disturbed, or if the turf is thin. Actually, depending on who you talk to, some may say Veronica officinalis is not a weed, but rather, a useful plant. Historically, Veronica officinalis was actually used medicinally to treat coughs, stomach and urinary disorders, rheumatism, and as a general tonic. It originated in Europe and western Asia, but at some point was introduced to North America and has spread into the wild there as well. However, despite its value as an herbal remedy, any homeowner who loves lawn care will tell you that Veronica officinalis is a weed. If your lawn is infested with Veronica officinalis, I encourage you to contact us at Natural Way Lawn Care for details on how to remove it from your lawn. Keith Fetzner is the owner of Natural Way Lawn Care and Lawn Service which provides Lawn Care, Lawn Service, and Tree Care and Shrub care for Southeastern Michigan. Taking Care Of Your Quilt

By John Charles Duggan Quilters spend a lot of time choosing fabric, painstakingly cutting and piecing it together to form a family heirloom that is irreplaceable. But then what happens? How do you ensure it is protected? Unfortunately, most quilts are left on open shelves, or hung on the wall, or crammed into cupboards or wardrobes. In some cases they may be donated to a family member or friend, but do you know that it won't just suffer the same fate? There are some tips to help you and your loved ones preserve your quilt. You can roll the quilt and store - Quilts ready for storage are best stored rolled onto rigid tubes which prevents folds or creases. Cardboard tubes from carpet and upholstery outlets are usable if they don't touch the quilt directly. (Wood acids in paper can leach into a quilt causing fabric to turn brown and brittle). So the tubes can be wrapped in aluminum foil or freezer paper topped with cotton sheeting, your quilts laid on top with another cotton sheet on top and then rolled onto the covered tube. You should tag the contents and store horizontally. For simpler storage, fold your quilts in clean cotton sheets or pillowcases, periodically opening and re-folding your quilt along different lines. Again, you should label each quilt package. For even simpler storage, fold your quilts and store on cupboard shelves, but the shelves must be lined with acid-free shelf paper to prevent the acid in the wood from leaching onto the quilt. If you decide to display your quilts on the wall, dont use pushpins, tacks or nails to poke through the quilt's fabric. Instead baste a sleeve to each side of the quilt large enough for a curtain rod or hanger to slip through. A lot of quilters use the sleeves to hang their quilts, but most only put a sleeve on one end of their quilt. Put a sleeve on both the top and the bottom and on each side of the quilt so you can then rotate your quilt every so often to eliminate the stress that occurs when the quilt always hangs from the same edge. Obviously, you can't do this if your quilt is a picture! Don't forget that sunlight can damage a quilt, dimming its colours and weakening the fabrics. John Charles Duggan is the husband of a quilter who owns Jazmin Patchwork & Quilting in Gordons Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. John imports pure cotton quality quilting fabrics for the Southern African market and exports quality African fabrics and ceramic buttons. Save Some Money: Make Your Own Wedding Favors

By Lesley-Ann Graham Not only is it a nice touch, but if you have time to make your own simple wedding favors, you can save money that you desperately need for flowers, food, or your honeymoon. A great wedding favor to make yourself is molded chocolate. With options from lollipops to delicate multicolored shells, dark chocolate to white chocolates you can dye to match your wedding colors, these edible favors are a winner for every age. To make your own chocolate wedding favors, follow these steps: Chocolate Wedding Favors 1. Equipment: Microwave or double boiler to melt chocolates Plastic bowls and spoons Candy molds plastic or coated metal are fine, but nonstick is critical Small cellophane bags Small squeeze bottle Plastic gloves designed for handling food Candy thermometer 2. Ingredients: Molding chocolate like Merckens Chocolate or Wilton Candy Melts. For best results, buy this at a specialty cooking store and ask the store clerk to help you determine how much to purchase. Lollipop sticks Luster dust, or pearl dust, to add shimmer to your chocolate Small paint brush (for the luster dust) Oil-based flavorings Decorative ribbons or other decorations to impress in the chocolate 3. Steps: Select your molds. Melt the chocolates in a double boiler or microwave (the double boiler is better because of a consistent melt, but you will need to keep an eye on it.) Water goes in the outer pot, the chocolate sits in the inner. Try not to bring the water to a boil, and do not let any water mix with your chocolate. Stir chocolate until it is melted. In the double boiler method, you can melt about two pounds of chocolate at a time. When using the microwave method, melt a half-pound at a time. Place in microwave at about 600 watts for 1 minute, then stir. Return to microwave for 15 seconds at a time until completely melted. If you want to add a flavor, do it now; no more than 20-25 drops per pound should work. Next, fill a squeeze bottle with chocolate. Squeeze chocolate into each mold crevice carefully to eradicate air bubbles. Tap mold on counter to eliminate remaining air bubbles; pop the stubborn ones with a toothpick. Fill molds to the top, and insert lollipop stick if you wish. Place mold in freezer for about five minutes, or until the chocolate pulls away from the mold. Remove favors from mold and place on a sheet of wax paper to rest; make sure none of them touch the others. 4. Decorating Your Wedding Chocolates: Shimmer can be added by coating your chocolates with luster dust. Dip a brush in water or another clear liquid, then in the dust. Brush powder on for a solid-looking shimmer. Put chocolates in cellophane bags and close by tying with a pretty ribbon. These ribbons can be personalized with name and wedding date, and you can even find miniature roses at many home dcor stores to slip into the ribbon. 5. Cost: The more chocolates you make with the same molds, the lower the cost per chocolate goes. In general, you can make about a hundred chocolates for $30. Larger molds and more elaborate decorations can make costs rise to $1 per chocolate. Common Exhibit Marketing Mistakes: Ten Tips on How to Avoid Them

By Susan Friedmann The key to great exhibiting is marketing. But marketing is a very inexact science that leaves room for a multitude of errors to occur. The following are 10 of the most common marketing mistakes that exhibitors often make. Learn to avoid them and you will increase your chances for a successful tradeshow. 1. Have A Proper Exhibit Marketing Plan Having both a strategic exhibit marketing and tactical plan of action is a critical starting point. In order to make tradeshows a powerful dimension your companys overall marketing operation, there must be total alignment between the strategic marketing and your exhibit marketing plan. Tradeshows should not be a stand-alone venture. Know and understand exactly what you wish to achieve - increasing market share with existing users; introducing new products/services into existing markets or into new markets; or introducing new products/services into new markets. This is the nucleus on which to build. 2. Have A Well-Defined Promotional Plan A significant part of your marketing includes promotion pre-show, at-show and post-show. Most exhibitors fail to have a plan that encompasses all three areas. Budget is naturally going to play a major role in deciding what and how much promotional activity is possible. Developing a meaningful theme or message that ties into your strategic marketing plan will then help to guide promotional decisions. Know whom you want to target and then consider having different promotional programs aimed at the different groups you are interested in attracting. Include direct mail, broadcast faxes, advertising, PR, sponsorship, and the Internet as possible ways to reach your target audience. 3. Use Direct Mail Effectively Direct mail is still one of the most popular promotional vehicles exhibitors use. From postcards to multi-piece mailings, attendees are deluged with invitations to visit booths. Many of the mailings come from show managements lists and as a result, everyone gets everything. To target the people you want visit your booth, use your own list of customers and prospects--its the best one available. Design a piece that is totally benefit-oriented and makes an impact. Mail three pieces at regular intervals prior to the show, starting about four weeks out, to help ensure your invitation is seen. Wherever possible, use first-class mail. Theres nothing worse than a mailing that arrives after the show is over. 4. Give Visitors An Incentive To Visit Your Booth Whatever promotional vehicles you use, make sure that you give visitors a reason to come and visit you. With a hall overflowing with fascinating products/services, combined with time constraints, people need an incentive to come and visit your booth. First and foremost their primary interest is in whats new! They are eager to learn about the latest technologies, new applications, or anything that will help save them time and/or money. Even if you dont have a new product/service to introduce, think about a new angle to promote your offerings. 5. Have Giveaways That Work Tied into giving visitors an incentive to visit your booth is the opportunity to offer a premium item that will entice them. Your giveaway items should be designed to increase your memorability, communicate, motivate, promote or increase recognition of your company. Developing a dynamite giveaway takes thought and creativity. Consider what your target audience wants, what will help them do their job better, what they cant get elsewhere, what is product/service related and educational. Think about having different gifts for different types of visitors. Use your website to make an offer for visitors to collect important information, such as an executive report, when they visit your booth. Giveaways should be used as a reward or token of appreciation for visitors participating in a demonstration, presentation or contest, or as a thank-you for qualifying information about specific needs etc. 6. Use Press Relations Effectively Public relations is one of the most cost-effective and successful methods for generating large volumes of direct inquiries and sales. Before the show ask show management for a comprehensive media list, and find out which publications are planning a special show edition. Send out newsworthy press releases focusing on whats new about your product/service, or highlighting a new application or market venture. Compile press kits for the press office that include information about industry trends, statistics, new technology or production information. Also include good product photos and key company contacts. Have staff members at the booth who are specifically assigned to interact with the media 7. Differentiate Your Products/Services Too many exhibitors are happy to use the me too marketing approach. Examine their marketing plans and theres an underlying sameness about them. With shows that attract hundreds of exhibitors, there are very few that seem to stand out from the crowd. Since memorability is an integral part of a visitors show experience, you should be looking at what makes you different and why a prospect should buy from you. This is of particular concern with generic products in your industry. Every aspect of your exhibit marketing plan, including your promotions, your booth and your people should be aimed at making an impact and creating curiosity. 8. Use The Booth As An Effective Marketing Tool On the show floor your exhibit makes a strong statement about who your company is, what you do and how you do it. The purpose of your exhibit is to attract visitors so that you can achieve your marketing objectives. In addition to it being an open, welcoming and friendly space, there needs to be a focal point and a strong key message that communicates a significant benefit to your prospect. Opt for large graphics rather than reams of copy. Pictures paint a thousand words while very few exhibitors will take the time to read. Your presentations or demonstrations are a critical part of your exhibit marketing. Create an experience that allows visitors use as many of their senses as possible. This will help to enhance memorability. 9. Realize That Your People Are Your Marketing Team Your people are your ambassadors. They represent everything your company stands for, so choose them well. Brief them beforehand and make sure that they know: why you are exhibiting; what you are exhibiting and what you expect from them. Exhibit staff training is essential for a unified and professional image. Make sure that they sell instead of tell; dont try to do too much; understand visitor needs; dont spend too much time; and know how to close the interaction with a commitment to follow-up. Avoid overcrowding the booth with company representatives. Have strict rules regarding employees visiting the show and insist staffers not scheduled for booth duty stay away until their assigned time. Assign specific tasks for company executives working the show. 10. Follow-Up Promptly The key to your tradeshow success is wrapped up in the lead-management process. The best time to plan for follow-up is before the show. Show leads often take second place to other management activities that occur after being out of the office for several days. The longer leads are left unattended, the colder and more mediocre they become. It is to your advantage to develop an organized, systematic approach to follow-up. Establish a lead handling system, set time lines for follow-up, use a computerized database for tracking, make sales representatives accountable for leads given to them, and then measure your results. Loans For Unemployed - when your personal economy slumps during difficult times

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Thompson]Amanda Thompson The latest IDS figures for unemployment the claimant count measure of unemployment rose by 8,100 by April 2005 to stand at 839,400 (a rate of 2.7 per cent). Unemployment is unforeseeable, yet very prevalent. Job loss is one of the most trying time period of ones life. Everybody has gone through that phase at least once. The one thing every unemployed knows is that unemployment doesnt pay bills. It becomes more and more difficult to cope with unemployment with the increasing financial pressures. And financial urgencies are like right then and there, just waiting to pounce upon you at the worst time. Since all roads seem blocked, I would want to tell you there is still one road to monetary relief. Shall we walk on it? It is named loans for unemployed. Your bills are continuously gyrating while some money requirement could be just waiting to knock on your door. It is a cluttered situation. Be realistic in estimating your job prospects and whether you are looking for a few months solution or a year solution. It will enable you to make a logical application for your unemployment loan. Loans for the unemployed are not that frequently laid down on a platter. Every loan eventually boils down to the question of repayment. Usually loans lenders take job as the criteria of your ability to repay loan without default. However, unemployed with substantial assets would find it fairly superior chance to qualify for loans for unemployed. Loan lenders will make an offer to an unemployed loans borrower and wont even press for documentation if the borrower makes a sizeable down payment. This down payment is usually 25% or more. A home equity line of credit can provide financial guarantee for the unemployed. There is two way to draw on the equity of your home. You can get a home equity loan which is a lump sum and paid back in some specified time. Or an unemployed can take a home equity line of credit which is like a credit card with revolving balance. You draw against it when you want, like using a credit card, and as you repay the balance, the credit becomes available again. A home equity line of credit or HELOCs can be very accommodating in case of periodic expenses. Basic necessities are easily fulfilled with the help of line of credit during unemployment period. This will enable the unemployed to get those increasing credit cards bills to rest. Debt consolidation loans for unemployed are also accessible. Debt consolidation will make it easier for the unemployed to regulate their debts and also considerably lower the rate of interest. As an unemployed you can go to a debt management firm. Debt management firm can get your creditors to reduce your interest rates and also to relinquish any late fees. However, talk to more than one firm before you settle on which debt consolidation or management firm to settle. The debt management firm in question should be sympathetic to your unemployment status and ready to do the hard work for you. Unemployed tenant loans are also readily accessible. Loan lenders are willing to give loan to tenants to those have little or no income. An unemployed who is on income supports, benefits, or disability allowance then this incomes will be counted as total declared income. A flexible unsecured loan would be appropriate for unemployed tenants. Flexible loans for unemployed would be ideal for they have stand by facility, holiday period or overdraft. This will ensure repayment to be made at later time without any severe penalties implemented against you. This is perhaps the last thing you would want in your already taut financial condition. Student can apply for under the unemployed loans scheme. A recent survey has found that the people are more worried about their debt than about any other situation. Unemployed loans help college student to get ample money for their education requirements. Personal loans for unemployed have both the ability and the proficiency to match their expectations and requirements. An unemployed consumer seeking a personal loan should search for a repayment plan that can be stretched out overtime. Opting for this type of loan can circumvent the chance of biting off more personal loan than one can afford while they are looking for a new employment opportunity. Unemployment may be by choice but rarely economically rewarding. Nevertheless, it is a temporary situation. It wont last. But without financial support how long can one survive unemployment? Loans can solve the problem of scarcity of funds. You can find a loan for every condition on the net. Undoubtedly, you can! And what do you type on your search page? Unemployed loans. Student Loans On Bad Credit - It Can Be Done!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mike_Herman]Mike Herman Learn how to get student loans on bad credit. If youre looking for a way to finance your childrens education or your own but you know your credit score is not that great, you may be in for a surprise. Getting student loans on bad credit can be done. Before you begin to attempt to find outside sources for funding, make sure you talk with the financial aid department of the school. Theyll be able to direct you and show you ways to get funding for education that you may not know about. There are several federally funded programs that provide money for education. Some require repayment, while others are given in the form of grants. The process is not quick. Be prepared to wait months. Dont expect to get assistance from financial aid departments in a couple of weeks. Theres lots of paperwork, and once the forms are submitted, it can take weeks to get a reply. Make sure you get started at least three months before its time for school. Student Loans On Bad Credit Do Your Homework Some people wont even attempt to get student loans on bad credit. They just think their credit is too bad to get a loan. Many lending institutions have changed their attitude on lending to those with less than perfect credit. There are many companies that specialize in helping people with poor credit to obtain loans. Its a good idea to review your credit report and get your FICO score, before you begin to apply for loans. Youll know exactly what the potential lenders are seeing, and you may also be able to improve the reports before you apply for a loan. This process may take some time and work, but it can reward you with the money you need for education at a lower interest rate. You may consider using a loan broker to find the loan you need. These companies dont charge a fee and have the resources to locate the best lenders for your particular situation. Most of the time youll get a list of three or four lenders and its your choice as to which ones you use. Another way to get student loans on bad credit is to have a co-signer willing to sign for a loan. Co-signers simply agree that if you dont repay, they will. Having a co-signer will almost guarantee letter loan terms for those attempting to get student loans on bad credit. Whatever method you use to get student loans on bad credit, dont give up. Its well proven that continuing your education puts you on the road to a brighter financial future. So, When IS The Right Time For A Short Hair Cut?

By Michael Barrows The short hair cut is as popular as ever and more and more women are taking the plunge and sporting ultra-short locks. From the heavily textured and spiked to the soft and feminine, there is no doubt that the short hair cut is here to stay and has proven to be one of the most popular hair cut styles among women. But how do you know if you should go short with your new hair cut or when you should take the plunge? For most, the answer to these questions is going to be a personal decision, but there are some guidelines that you can follow to help you decide whether or not a short hair cut is for you. Choosing the right hair cut style should be a joint effort between you and your stylist. With her professional advice as to what will look sensational on you and your personal preference, together you should be able to find numerous new hair cuts that are perfect for your individual personality, tastes and features. When to go for the short hair cut and when not to You should choose a short hair cut if you prefer shorter styles or if you have been thinking about going short for a while. If you have already worn a short hair cut in the past and loved it, then you are one step ahead of the game. Likely, you will have a good idea of what short cuts will look good on you and which cuts will give you the most styling ease and freedom. You should not choose a short hair cut just because it is trendy or you saw it on someone else and want to achieve the same effect. While some hair cut styles will look just as great on you as they do on others, getting a short hair cut on a whim is never a good idea. If you see something you like, think about it for a while before deciding to get a new hair cut. Even better - use one of the interactive online hair galleries, to test out the look before you buy Never get a short hair cut for emotional reasons. Having a bad hair day? Do not cut your hair off in anger. If you do, you may end up fighting with dreaded tresses that are much too short for your particular style. Instead, go for a trim or a style that is just slightly shorter than the one you already have. How to go short If you have never had a short hair cut, you should go shorter gradually to reduce the level of shock experienced with getting a short hair cut and to see if you are going to like wearing shorter styles. Be prepared to experience some level of shock, though, even if you only shorten your style by a few inches. Talk to your stylist and decide what type of short hair cut is your ultimate goal. Then, choose several hair cut styles that you can get over the course of a few months that will decrease your hair's length gradually. That way when you finally take the plunge and get the short hair cut you will know that you will be comfortable with it. Nothing is worse than trying to grow out a short hair cut that you hate. What to Feed Your Fish During Colder Winter Months

By Brett Fogle With air and water temperatures dropping in most parts of the country, now is the time to greatly reduce the amount of food you are feeding your fish. When your water temperature starts falling below 65 degrees, you should consider switching your fish food to a more digestible wheat germ food. At lower temperatures, the good bacteria in your fish's digestive tract become less active, and have harder time digesting their normal high-protein diet. In colder water temperatures, below say 50 - 55 degrees, then you should stop feeding your fish altogether. Even though they may eat, and seem hungry, you can actually harm them by feeding them their regular diet. In some cases, undigested food can cause health problems in fish and trouble with their digestive tract. So don't feel bad that they are going hungry! Pond fish and KOI can be like little underwater pigs with fins - they will continue to eat because they dont know any better... Translation Shifts From Nice-to-Have to Must-Have

By Shy Avni Directives guiding the sale of medical and consumer devices already govern localization in the 25 countries of the European Union. The European Unions (EU) Medical Device Directive (93/42/EEC) (MDD) forced a great many medical device manufactures to recognize the fact that there are other languages besides English. What are the implications from the translation point of view? For starters, the Directive requires companies to adopt a specific multilingual documentation process. This requirement compels companies to make provisions for translating documents pertaining to their product packaging, end-user instructions, labels and other essential product documentation. These are particularly important when it comes to user instructions since the devices safety and purported performance could be compromised due to incompetent translation. While previous directives specify that national languages may be necessary for this kind of information, most EU member states have now made it clear that this has become an absolute requirement. Specifically the MDD 93/42/EEC Directive Annex I Article 13.1 states that each device must be accompanied by the information needed to use it safely and to identify the manufacturer, taking account of the training and knowledge of the potential users. This, along with the directive making the potential users knowledge" mandatory, makes "accurate translation" an imperative. There are two basic categories into which product information generally falls: (I professional use and II patient use). User information for devices designed for patient (OTC) use is almost invariably translated into all target market languages. This has to do with common sense, regardless of any specific regulations. With regard to devices designed for professional use, safety-related information is also commonly translated. Their high-level of complexity often makes it advisable to provide information in the user's native tongue. It is difficult to predict the outcome of a court case in which a manufacturer is sued as a result of a user error stemming from his failure to understand instructions provided in a foreign language. However, the damage to the manufacturer's reputation and business would be done in any case, whether he is legally liable or not. Often manufacturers will use their own distributor or in-house translators to make their products available in different languages. However, this practice while viewed as a viable way to cut costs often results in poor translations. Not only is it in the best interest of the manufacturer to continually monitor all printed material for accuracy and consistency, it is essential to credible business practices. Thus, badly translated instructions are no better than those in a foreign language and can result in the same legal repercussions as no translation at all. Cutting corners by using this type of translation is clearly not the way to ensure quality. There is yet another argument in favor of translating medical device material that has little to do with regulatory requirements. As with any product geared for customers in different countries with different mother tongues, it is a matter of user friendliness and a valuable selling point to make it available in the potential clients' native tongues. For example, the German sales force of an MDD manufacturer will find themselves at a serious disadvantage when trying to sell their English-language product if their colleagues from competitor B offer a similar device in duly localized versions. Thus, translation whether legally binding for a specific product or not simply makes good business sense. As has been clearly emphasized, accuracy in providing translation services is absolutely crucial. Improper translation is not only detrimental to the end user it is a violation of the Directive! Net-Translators provides translation services in over 40 different languages and offers translation services to manufacturers who must comply with these requirements. All of the more than 300 translators at Net-Translators are located in the countries where their native language is spoken, ensuring the most precise translations possible. Once again, the OneLink:OneSolution network is offering solutions to firms in the medical device industry concerning one of the most important matters through one of its partners, Net-Translators. How To Be A Fabulous Flirter

By Peter Portero For some people it just comes naturally, that tilt of the head and bat of the eye. But for those of us without natural flirting talent, many skills of the fabulous flirter can be learned, too. Practice these moves to hone your flirting skills. First, remember most people are looking at your face. That means things like eye contact and a broad smile is important for fabulous flirting. If you're having a genuinely good time, it'll show in the sparkle in your eyes. Next, be aware of your body language. Crossed arms and hunched shoulders always say "stay away." Keep your arms open or resting lightly on your knees. Lean forward to show interest. Looking disinterested or unenthusiastic will only bore everyone else. Touch is an important part of non-verbal communication, too. Most fabulous flirters use their hands to gently touch other folks. Do it when it's most natural, such as when you're laughing at a joke or making a suggestive comment. But don't let your hand linger too long, either! Just a gentle pat or stroke is all you need to get the point across. The words you choose are also important when you're flirting. Compliment the other person on their physical appearance or their sense of humor when appropriate. Always be truthful in your compliments, since most folks will know when you're lying. Remember: don't overdo it! Fabulous flirters don't lay it on too thick. Instead, a small compliment or gesture every so often will tempt them into wanting more without seeming overwhelming. Koi Pond: Water Chemistry

By Douglas Hoover The most basic conditions of your koi pond water chemistry are the pH factor (which stands for potential Hydrogen) and water hardness. These factors alone can determine the life or death of your koi ponds inhabitants (I call them the Fam Fam). The pH of the koi pond water is measured on a scale of 1-14, with a reading of 7 considered neutral. Any reading above 7 is alkaline; anything below 7 is acidic. Most fish prefer a pH value of 7.2 to 7.6, or just slightly on the alkaline side of the scale. However, koi and goldfish can adjust to gradual changes in pH from as low as 7 to as high as 8.5 and still remain healthy and flourish. Hardness or buffers in the koi pond water can raise the pH levels. Even though hardness is a separate measure from pH, the two respond to each other chemically. Pure or distilled water has a pH of 7 and an absence of buffers or hardness. Neutral pH is unstable, however, and if it has no buffers or hardness, it can quickly drop to the lower (acidic) end of the pH scale as low as 4.2 to 4.8. At this level of acidity the fishs gills become burned and eventually become unable to extract oxygen from the water, ultimately suffocating. Should the pH in your koi pond ever drop to these levels, never try to raise the pH too quickly. By placing coral gravel, dolomite, or oyster shell gravel in a nylon filter bag inside your filter or directly in the waterfall, moving water can pass through it and the pH will rise to 7.0 or 7.3 in less than two days. To prevent the drastic fluctuation in hardness buffers affecting pH, you should include one or more of these gravels in your filter system at all times especially if you are replenishing your pond with soft water. The gravel should be replaced every 9 to 12 months since all the buffers will be leached out by that time. If the buffers are used up and the pH level drops to 6.0 or lower, the nitrifying bacteria that break down the toxic fish waste, ammonia, and nitrite will stop functioning. At a low pH, highly toxic ammonia chemically changes to relatively non-toxic ammonium. If you raise the pH rapidly, the ammonium will also quickly return to ammonia, which could be fatal to your fish. Please invest in the health of your fish. Purchase a koi pond test kit from any pet or pond store. Invest the time to read the directions and start regularly testing your koi pond. Remember, clear water does not mean clean! As in the water we drink, just because the water looks clear, smells good, and tastes good does not mean it is clean. Most of the most toxic, cancer-causing priority pollutants listed by the E.P.A are colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Do not ever forget the simple facts: You have a toilet in a separate room of your house. Your scaly friends living room is their toilet, and they have to swim in it. Keep it flushed and clean. If you do not presently have a bio-filter, please purchase one, or at no cost to you, download instructions and a parts list of simple items you can purchase from any home improvement store for less then $65 and build one yourself using an electric drill and a hand saw. download with no oblication or log in required at - http://www.askdoughoover.com

Hotel Chains are adding Fake Plants and Trees to Rooms

By D Randolph Hotel Chains are adding artificial plants and fake trees to their room requirements. Hotels are adding 2-3 fake plants per room to their decor standards. Decor Standards are what hotel chains set as a minimum decor level for the entire chain so that guests feel can be assured of a similar look and feel at any hotel associated with the chain. By adding Fake Plants, the hotels can give a room an upscale look without the high cost of maintaining live plants. The plants and trees are regarded as furniture and can be maintained by the housekeeping staff. The plants need only light dusting to keep their life-like appearance and the plants give guests the look of a residential home. Most plants are chosen to match either the decor or the local climate. While a hotel in Miami may have palm trees, a New York hotel may choose a maple or ficus tree. Some rooms use decorative floor plants to fill in corners where furniture can't be used. Full leafy plants like Hostas and Syngonium are perfect for this. A ficus tree adds a nice touch when the space needed is a little larger. Entertainment Centers have also give hoteliers a design opportunity. These are usually built for more accessories that the standard hotel television. Chains are using small accent plants to fill in the extra space where a CD rack may have been intended. Fake Plants give the opportunity to match decor with an item that will give guests a more comfortable setting. Want To Lose Fat? Eat More of This

By Gregg Gillies If you've been working out with weights for any length of time, you know the importance of supplying your body with frequent feedings of quality protein so that your body will be able to have the necessary building blocks to build muscle in the shortest amount of time possible. How much protein should you be consuming each day? Well, that debate has been raging for many years. Eventually, the mainstream will accept what those in the bodybuilding community have known for a long, long time. In order to increase muscle mass, you should be consuming at least one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. This is a good starting point. However, this is the same thing you need for fat loss. You need to eat more protein to burn fat. After awhile you may gradually increase your protein intake, monitoring your progress as you go, to determine if a higher protein intake allows you to make better progress. Personally, I make better progress when my protein intake is somewhere between one and 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, spread out over 6 meals per day. The above paragraph may not be new to any of you. What you might not realize, however, is that protein is also extremely important when dieting to burn off excess body fat. You definitely want to eat more protein to burn fat. Eating more protein burns calories and helps you lean out. Yes, its important to keep your protein intake high when dieting to make sure that you dont burn off any muscle tissue in your quest to get ripped or lean. But thats not what Im talking about. Im talking about taking in protein to burn fat in order to boost your metabolism and burn more fat, in addition to helping preserve and build your lean muscle tissue. Eating more protein to burn fat was confirmed in a study published in the American Journal of Physiology. One group was fed a high protein diet (just over one gram per pound of bodyweight per day) while the second group consumed a protein diet near equal to that of the RDA. The group eating the high protein diet burned more fat than the group consuming protein near equal to the RDA.
One reason for the ability of protein to burn fat could be an increased "thermic" effect. The thermic effect of the RDA group was elevated 16% after eating. However, in the high protein group the thermic effect increased 42% after eating, almost 3 times that of the RDA group. This thermic effect of digesting your food peaks approximately one hour after eating. Spreading your daily caloric intake over 6 meals a day, eating every 2 to 3 hours, helps to take advantage of the increased metabolic rate that accompanies eating. In other words, the more oftern you eat, the higher your metabolic rate, i.e. the number of calories your body burns each day. In addition, by adding more protein to each meal, you also increase your metabolism. Your body requires more energy (i.e. calories) to process protein than it does carbohydrates.
Let's review some simple changes you can make right now in your nutrition program to rapidly increase your body's ability to not only build muscle but burn fat also. 1) Eat 5 to 6 smaller meals per day, as opposed to 2 or 3 larger ones. This will ensure that you supple your body with the nutrients necessary to build muscle, as well as increase your resting metabolic rate. It will also prevent your body from kicking into "starvation" mode, which can happen when you go too long between meals.
If this happens, your body will start burning muscle for energy and increase your body fat stores, as well as slowing down your metabolism. All of these are things you want to avoid. 2) Eat a high protein diet consisting of at least one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. This helps ensure that your body has the protein available to increase maintain a positive nitrogen balance, which can lead to an increase in your muscles mass. It will also increase your metabolic rate, allowing you to burn more body fat than a low protein diet, without as large a decrease in your daily caloric intake, which will also help avoid the "starvation" mode discussed in the previous paragraph. Try these simple changes in your nutrition program to help you rapidly increase your muscle mass, burn off unwanted body fat and achieve the ripped muscular body that you've always wanted. However, if you really want to do a wedding cake makeover ask if they can do themed wedding cakes. There are a wide variety of options for a custom wedding cake and some of the ways that you can customize are listed below. Decorations If you are not sure about all of this and want to stick somewhat to tradtion then why not go for the traditional cake but add some flare to it through the decorations and frosting. Most wedding cake bakers can add a wide variety of different ornaments and decorations to the wedding cake to really make it stand out. Sure you can go with the traditional shaped cakes like the three tiered circle or even a tiered square cake but that does not mean you cant go a little crazy and get some interesting decorations put on it with unique frosting ideas. Try to pick up on the theme of the wedding as much as possible. Sculpted Cakes Now this is where a custom wedding cake baker really can show off their talents and the types of projects they often love to do. A baker who can do a sculpted cake might take a little work to find however once you find one you are only limited by your ideas. Do you want a big castle wedding cake? They can easily do this to make a fairy tale wedding cake. If you want a beach themed wedding cake why not get a picnic basket or a beautiful sand castle wedding cake. If you are contemplating getting a sculpted cake you can really have any three dimensional design that you can think of. Why not try a hamburger and fries for a fun and light hearted beach wedding cake. The sky is the limited once you get a sculpted cake. Mini Cakes and Cup Cakes Again if you dont quite feel ready to make the commitment to such a grand cake like above and want to keep a little bit on the traditional side yet with a flair of fun why not try a mini wedding cake or even cupcakes. These are fun because they are small individual serving sized cakes that your guests will love. If you are planning on having a small wedding it can be a lot of fun to create personalized mini wedding cakes for the guests. Whatever you choose always keep in mind that there are options out there to customize, tweak, alter and change just about every factor of your wedding cake. Let you mind wander and have fun a bit and go for something a little different. Always make sure to plan ahead and leave enough time for the baker to do the extra job well. Otherwise you are all set to go with a fun and unique wedding cake that is a definite extreme makeover from the traditional three or five tiered wedding cake. Free 5 day Wedding

A Guide to Beautiful Wedding Invitations

By Philip Nicosia Wedding invitations are an integral part of a weddings theme and the mood you want to set for your ceremony. After all, if the purpose were to solely inform the guests of the details of the event, then you could just send an email or postcard. However, the invitation also serves as a souvenir of a special occasion, and an announcement of a couples love. Like the wedding ceremony itself, it must be beautiful and personal. Selecting the Wedding Invitations Design There are thousands of ready-made wedding invitations to choose from; simply select a design, send the details, and the printer can have it ready within weeks. With such a wide selection, it may be difficult to pick which one is best. Here are the things to consider: * Formal or casual. You want a wedding invitation to complement the overall theme and mood of the wedding. Is your wedding formal or casual? A formal wedding may need classic script fonts, formal wording, and the traditional double envelope. A more casual invitation may use more modern fonts and more natural wording (i.e., instead of we cordially invite you, say please join us), but care must be taken to retain the solemnity of the occasion. Lets say you want to enclose a photo of you and your fiancnot typically done for traditional invitations. Wear appropriate clothes to the photo shoot: shorts and tank tops simply dont work. * Color. You should always choose a subdued color. If you are using a rather bright color for your motif, like turquoise, opt for a delicate ribbon trim or small accents at the sides or corners rather than applying it to the whole invitation. This makes the invitation look more classy, and again, is in keeping with the nature of the event. Its a wedding, not a night dancing at a trendy club. * Personal Touches. You can add a short poem, a photo of the couple, or a song lyric from the wedding ceremony. Wedding Invitation Inserts Most wedding invitation companies can provide a selection of templates where you just have to fill in the specific names, places and dates. However, many couples prefer to make their own, to make the invitation less stiff and more personalized. If so, here are a few guidelines: * It is not necessary to put the entourage in the invitation. However, you can have a separate piece of paper listing the members that can be inserted in select invitationsspecifically those that go to the entourage themselves, and to the more immediate family and friends. They would appreciate the souvenir; plus, it is a way of thanking them for their participation. * Youd never forget to put the date and the venue, but many couples forget to put a map to the church and/.or reception area. A map would be very helpful, and would save many guests any inconvenience especially if the wedding is located in a place they are unfamiliar with. * If you are trying to control the number of guests, insert a small card that says, We have reserved __ seats for you. This is a subtle and polite way of minimizing the headcount. * If you are moving to a new home after the wedding, you can include another small insert announcing your new address. How To Make Your Own Custom Fly Leaders

By Stanley Stanton A properly designed and well-made fly leader serves as a vital connection between the fly line and the fly. When fly-casting, the energy of the fly line is transferred through a tapered leader to turn the fly over in a presentable manor into the strike zone. Of course, the long fly leader also keeps the fish from seeing that there is a fly attached to the fly line. In the modern world of fly-fishing, there is a need for specialized weights and lengths of fly leaders for the wide variety of fish species that are now being sought. For example, if you are dry-fly fishing a clear lake on a calm day, you may want to have a very long leader; one that is perhaps 12 to 16 feet long with a very fine tippet that does not scare off feeding fish. However, if you are fishing a river or a lake near the bottom, using a sink-tip line or sinking fly line with a nymph or streamer, you may need a 5 to 6 foot leader that will help to hold the fly down longer in the strike zone. Dry fly fishing rivers for trout usually requires a 9-foot leader with a soft mono tippet section and a soft mono tippet. Dry line, or grease-line steelhead fishing requires a stiff butt section, and stiff tippet section, to help turn over larger steelhead flies. Most saltwater fly-fishing requires special, hard stiff monofilament, leaders that are designed to turn over salt-water flies in very hot and humid climates where abrasive sand and warm salt-water conditions exist. There are many leader formulas to be found in the fly-fishing community, and the following is one that was given to me by my friend Mr. Ramn Aranguren, a past Argentinean fly-casting champion. I have used this leader formula over the years, and it has also worked well for many of my fly fishing associates. This leader has a long stiff butt section that will turn over those big bushy dry flies, weighted nymphs, steelhead flies, and will help you to drive a fly into the wind. I call it the 60/40 and here are a couple formula variations of it for different fly-fishing situations. First, take a piece of notebook paper and draw an 8-inch line. This will be used for writing down your marks and figures for the layout of the 60/40 tapered fly-leader and should be saved for future reference. Starting from left to right at the 5 point or about 60 %, make a short vertical line that is above and below line. Therefore, everything to the left of this vertical line will be the butt section or 60 percent and everything to the right of the vertical line will be the tippet section or 40 percent of the 8 line. Lets say you want to make a 9 ft. leader or 108: Take 60 % of 108 and you get about 65, that is how long the butt section will be, so write 65 above the 8 line and left of the vertical line on the paper. The butt section will consist of two sections. Take 60 % of 65 and you get 39; this is the length of the first butt section, which will be, .019 diameter leader material. Make a short vertical line below the 8 line to separate these two sections. The second section is 65 minus 39 or 26 of, .018 diameter leader material. Write down these figures under the line on your paper for the 1st and 2nd butt sections. The tippet section is also broken down into the 60/40 formulas: Subtract 65 from 108 and you get 43. This is the tippet section; so write 43 above the line on the right side of the vertical mark on your paper; this is 40 % of the line. Now take 60 % of 43 and you get approximately 27, which is the length of the first section of the tippet section. Mark this with a short vertical line below the 8 line. The first section will be divided into three 9 pieces of leader material .015 diameter, .014 diameter and .012 diameter. Write in these figures under the 8 line for reference. The second section is the tippet, which will be 17 of .010 diameter Write these figures under the 8 line. If needed, you can add extra length to the tippet, or tie on an additional 20 of a smaller size tippet if so desired. If you need a leader that will present a smaller fly very nicely, here is variation of the 60/40: Draw out the 8 line on your paper but this time, make your vertical mark at the halfway point. In this example we will make a 10 foot or 120 leader. Therefore, each half will be 60, write this figure on each side of the vertical mark above the line. Now, the 60/40 for the butt section: 60 % of 60 for the 1st section will be 36 of, .019 diameter leader material. The 2nd section or 40 % will be 24 of, .018 diameter leader material, write these figures under the 8line for reference. The tippet section will be slightly different; divide it into the 60/40. The first section of the tippet section or 36 will be divided into three segments: one 12 of .014 diameter, one 12 of .012 diameter and one 12 of 010 diameter leader material: these are the three segments of the 1st tippet section. Mark and write these figures under the 8 line on the paper. The tippet will be 24 of.009, mark and write these figures under the 8 line on your paper. Now that you have some leader formulas, what is next? The rule of thumb for making a leader is that the first section of the butt section should not be any stiffer than the end of the fly line. Dont put a 40-lb butt section on a 4 or 5 wt. fly line; it will not turn over properly. However, a 40-lb butt section would most likely work on a 9 or 10 wt. fly line. Your goal is to make a tapered leader that will smoothly and effectively transfer the energy of the fly line to turn over the fly. Select the sizes of leader material you will need depending on the number of sections in the leader and tippet size for your type of fishing. Try a discount sporting goods store for bulk spools of the heavier monofilament in different sizes and colors and your local fly shop for a wide range of sizes and types of tippet materials that you will need to make your own custom leaders. There are many different types of knots that can be used to connect the leader sections together, but perhaps the most popular is the blood knot. It is quick and easy to tie, and you will not waste a lot of material tying the knot. If you are going to use fluorocarbon leader material for your leaders or tippets you may find that the triple surgeons knot will give you better knot strength than the blood knot. I also recommend using the Double Uni knot to tie fluorocarbon tippets to your fly. Use a nail knot to make the connection between fly line and the leader butt section. If you want to make a loop-to-loop connection, cut the 1st. butt section about 8 below the nail knot and tie a perfection loop knot in both cut ends and loop them together. This will give the angler an easy way to change leaders or replace broken or damaged leaders quickly while on the water. The following is a list of leader material breaking strength and thickness in thousandths of an inch, because each manufacturers product varies, these values are only approximate: 4lb.= .005, 6lb.= .009, 8lb.= .010, 10lb.= .012, 14lb.= .014, 15lb.= .015, 20lb.= .018, 25lb.= .019, 30lb.= .020 Stanley Stanton is an Oregon Fly Fishing Guide and McKenzie River guide,

Cellular Phone Markets

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kevin_Lynch]Kevin Lynch Cellular markets around the world have steadily grown stronger over the past twenty years and show no signs of slowing down. Many people speculate that the growth will plateau reasonably soon and begin a steady decline due to market saturation. The US cellular markets are especially scrutinized as they are doing impressively well. Many believe that the cellular market in the United States might never reach a point of decline. When the US cellular markets first began to grow in the 1980s, only a few thousand cell phones were sold in the United States. Today, US cellular markets report that over 100 million cell phones have been sold in and cell phone subscription statuses are at an all time high. The average life of a cell phone for a single person in the United States estimated to be between one to two years before a consumer is in the market for a new cell phone. While that estimate doesnt have concrete backing, the estimates are from regular rotating numbers of cell phones sold on a regular basis and show no signs of slowing. As technology advances, US cellular markets are on the brink of many developments for improvements and features offered on cell phones. Most businesses have discovered that US cellular markets offer them an advantage in the amount of wireless freedom cell phones can offer anyone who needs to multitask or be in more than one location at regular intervals. With Internet browsing, text messaging, voice mail, contact lists and a number of other hands-free features, US cellular markets are quite savvy when it comes to understanding the needs and desires of the consumer and deliver on a regular basis. US cellular markets are one of the few that have the opportunity to continue advancing in technology and accessories for cell phones. With cell phones and upgrades, US cellular markets continue to grow every year and show no signs of slowing down. About The Author
